END OF SEASON AWARDS 2023/24

24/05/2024

Our End of Season Awards night was held at Brown & Blacks on Saturday 18th May 2024.  Many thanks to everyone who came along and to the team at the Brown & Blacks for looking after us on the night.

Clubman of the Year - ANDY MCKINNIE

Last year's winner, Kevin McKay presented this year's Clubman of the Year award.  Andy is part of the management team as well as being the matchday first aider.  Andy also takes care of our social media channels at the club, from creating all the graphics that you see on the social media platforms, to posting regular updates on Facebook, X and Instagram.  He will also lend a hand to anything else that needs done around the club.  Thank you for everything you do Andy - everyone at the club appreciates it!

Player of the Year - GAVIN SORLEY

Sean Hastie, who won Player of the Year last season, presented this year's award.  Gav has started all but one game this season.  His positive attitude, work rate, determination, and performances throughout the season make him a worthy candidate for the award.  Gav's experience and professionalism has rubbed off and has been key in the progression of a young squad over the course of the season.  He is a great character to have around the football club and he fully deserves this award.

Player’s Player of the Year - GAVIN SORLEY

Andrew Pennycook and last year's winner, Sean Hastie, presented Gav with the Willie Pennycook Memorial Trophy for this year's Player’s Player of the Year award.  The prize that means the most to any player as it’s voted for by fellow teammates.  Gav’s performances over the season were consistently high with vital saves, including three important penalty saves, at key moments in games to help us secure valuable points both at home and on the road.  It's no surprise that his teammates have recognised how important he has been to the team with this award.  Well done, Gav!

Coaching Staff Award - KIERAN FORBER

Charlie King presented Kieran with this year's Coaching Staff award.  This was a difficult one for the management team to decide on as there have been a number of players who have shown all the right attributes this season - attitude, work-rate, commitment, desire, professionalism, to name but a few.  But there was one person who we felt deserved the recognition the most.  Someone who had overcome some health problems at the beginning of the season and has only grown stronger the more games he played.  He took on board instruction, played out of position at times, and has become stronger as the season went on.  He would give us 100% every time he wore the shirt.  This year's winner was Kieran Forber!  Well done, Kieran!
